The graduate market is an increasingly competitive place, and here at the i2i International Soccer Academy, we recognise that a player’s education is equally as important as their soccer development.
We work hard to develop a player’s ability, whilst also ensuring every individual gains the qualifications needed to prepare them for a range of careers, both inside and outside the world of soccer.
We work in partnership with the highly regarded York St John University (YSJ), which was shortlisted for the prestigious “University of the Year” award.
All players with the i2i International Soccer Academy enrol as full time students at YSJ, where they can opt to study for either a BA Hons degree in International Business Management or a BSc Hons degree in Sport & Exercise Science.
Sport at YSJ is taught by a team with expertise across the diverse disciplines associated with the study of sport, covering all forms of physical activity. For more information on the University’s Sports department click here
The Business School is led by a highly qualified and experienced faculty which is leading in its field. For more information on the University's Business School click here
We work closely with both departments to meticulously plan our timetables in order to maximise a student’s contact time in the classroom and on the soccer pitch.
The university has a stunning campus, which is just minutes from the historic city centre of York. Its 11 acre site is in a beautiful setting - facing the world-famous York Minster across the city walls.
York St John University was rated in the top 20 institutions with the highest student satisfaction scores for teaching quality (Sunday Times University Guide, 2013).
Latest figures show that 100% of graduates were employed or in further study, while 75% were in professional/managerial jobs (2013/14).

York is a beautiful medieval walled city with a rich heritage and fantastic history. The city has provided the backdrop to many major political events in England throughout its 2000 years of existence.
As a popular tourist destination, it is home to hundreds of attractions, museums, historic buildings, tours, shops, restaurants and bars. It is perhaps most famous for York Minster which is the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe.
York is an extremely friendly city, which is big enough to have a professional soccer and rugby team, but small enough to be able to walk everywhere. And when it comes to exploring the UK, London and Edinburgh are both approximately two hours away on the train.
